Valve on Counter Strike 2

Valve on Counter Strike 2

Counter Strike Source remains one of the most popular online games ever to be played. It seems Valve has been talking lately about the potential of Counter Strike 2 and possibly in which direction it’s going. They’re still deep in the development phase and there’s literally no information out on it, but at least what we have is a confirmation, if not a little vague one.

There is no indication of whether Counter Strike 2 will see releases on PlayStation 3 or Xbox360,  but judging by Valve, it’s highly unlikely and CS 2 will probably remain a PC exclusive in the end.

A small quote from Valve Director of marketing, Doug Lombardi:
“With Counter-Strike 2, there’s a big question between, do we go start over from scratch and build this whole new game, do we do something that looks more like Team Fortress 2 that is rooted in the old game but has a ton of new stuff, or do we just sort of take everything that’s new that we’ve released and put that out in a new box,”

I really, really, REALLY hope that CS2 won’t be as useless as Source.
