Bite Sized News: Sims 3 DRM

A surprising move in the war of digital rights management (DRM), Eidos Entertainment has decided in there upcoming new Sims 3 to refrain from introducing hectic and complex DRM solutions, and instead opted for the good ‘ol Serial Code system (Disc based protection) no internet authorization of any sorts will be in it as it goes now.

What this move shows? I am not exactly sure but rumors are that they might be hoping to get more sales, the substance behind these rumors, or was is it because of their failed DRM system with spore where reactions ranged from comical protest creatures in Spore to class-action lawsuits.
