Arkham Asylum PS3 Version gets exclusive “Joker” challenge maps

Batman: Arkham Asylum is turning out to be another one of those titles that just keeps getting better each time something new is revealed on it. In my preview of the game I mentioned that there would be a type of Challenge mode featured in the game, where the player will be put up to certain tasks, such as eliminating a swarm of enemies, cleaning out an area without being seen, various tutorials and so on. However, the PS3 version of Arkham Asylum, has been revealed to be getting exclusive PSN downloadable content that will allow players to play through the Challenge Maps as the Joker himself.

This information initally came from a bill board on PlayStation Home advertising the exclusive content for the PS3 version. It was thereafter confirmed through a press release of the game. Below is the screenshot for some amusement (thanks Kotaku):

There is no news on whether there will be exclusive content for the Xbox360 or PC versions of the game so, at this point, it looks like the PS3 adaption is the one to get. If there are any revelations regarding other forms of exclusive content, we’ll let you know, so until then, keep an eye out for any further updates. Batman: Arkham Asylum will be released in June of this year on PC, PS3 and Xbox360.
