Assassin’s Creed 2 due for release in holiday 2009

Assassin’s Creed 2 due for release in holiday 2009

Ubisoft have recently announced that Assassin’s Creed 2 will be released on “all current-generation platforms” during this “holiday”, so expect a release around December of this year. Aside from two teaser trailers and some game details, Assassin’s Creed 2 has pretty much kept in the dark since its debut and confirmation. This sequel plans to improve on pracitcally everything the first game offered: free-running, combat, open world playstyle and exploration, mission structure, AI and more – which is definitely great news.

“Our creative team is working hard to top the experience of Assassin’s Creed,” said Patrice Desilets, creative director at Ubisoft. “We’ve made improvements to every aspect of the game. We’ve plunged ourselves into the stunning history of the Italian Renaissance so that we can offer fans a unique, varied and innovative Assassin’s Creed experience.”

The word is out and gamers will see Assassin’s Creed 2 hit the shelves in December of this year, if all goes according to plan, adding to the already enormous list of fantastic games of 2009. I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to get a little worried about December, because if I don’t die of sleep deprivation while trying to play and review all these games, I’m going to end up living in a state of bankruptcy. But in the end, I guess I’m willing to let the dangers and negatives slide if it means playing all of these awesome games this year. Count Assassin’s Creed 2 in for one of 2009′s most anticipated games – eGamer will be following this one very closely. Personally, I can’t wait for it. The first game was simply amazing and, if the sequel is trying to outdo it, it’s got my full attention.
