Fallout 3 “Broken Steel” DLC Pack
Broken Steel is the third downloadable content pack for Fallout 3 and, this time, it’s delivering something special. The content pack continues the story of Fallout 3 two weeks after the original ending. It’s been said that the pack alters the ending of the game, according to Jeff Gardiner, the lead producer of the content pack. In this newest addition, the player joins the Brotherhood of Steel to help the Capital Wasteland get rid of the “Enclave” permanently. Read below for the list of new additions awaiting Fallout 3:
- Play through the main story arc of Broken Steel, which continues two weeks after the original game ended. It has been confirmed that Broken Steel will not “end your game” once you have completed it – players will still be able to wander the Capital Wasteland afterwards.
- Take on a number of new sidequests within the Broken Steel plotline.
- The level cap will be raised from 20 to 30. Bethesda VP of Marketing and PR Pete Hines said the following on the matter: “the leveling process after 20 should be longer than expected, with each post-20 level requiring a significantly-larger amount of experience before obtainment — it seems likely you’ll have to scour the land and do everything if you want to hit the level 30 cap.”
- Discover new weapons to add to your arsenal – Obliterate your enemies using the newly added Tesla Cannon, Tri-Laser, Heavy Incinerator and more.
- Battle new and more powerful enemies to create harder challenges, such as the Tri-Laser-wielding Supermutant Overlord, the Feral Ghoul Reaper and the Enclave Hellfire Trooper.

The Broken Steel downloadable content pack will be released on May 5, 2009 on Xbox360 and PC. Once again the PS3 version is being left out on yet another content pack – sorry guys, but this one isn’t coming either. I know it’s frustrating for all PS3 owners out there who are getting none of these expansions, but at least you know I’m with you on this one. I’m lucky I didn’t buy Fallout 3 for my PS3, but to those that did, I share your anger either way.
