Killzone 2, the much hyped first person shooter for the PlayStation 3, exceeded all expectations when it was released. Naturally, since the game was anticipated to such a high extent, it was bound to make good sales, but the statistics now indicate exceptional results in this area. Not only has Killzone 2 claimed the throne for fastest selling first-party PS3 game, but it has also broken all current records for PS3 titles sold. It also held the record for fastest selling PS3 game during the first 30 days after its launch. To turn fact into figure, Guerrilla Games’ Killzone 2 has sold over 500 000 copies, and needless to say, Sony are extremely happy and proud of these results.
