Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny for PSP
With the recent revelation of Tekken 6 for PSP, it seems that Sony’s handheld console is on a role for 2009. Now Namco Bandai, in an interview with gamespot, have announced a brand new Soul Calibur title exclusive to the PSP to be arriving later this year. The game will feature all-new characters, along with the core cast from the previous games, an ad-hoc multiplayer mode and a host of exclusive content for the PSP. Like Tekken 6 for PSP, however, there is no word on infrastructure (online) mode either. Apparently, the game is being designed with a ‘friendliness to newcomers’ idea in mind, so that they can fit into the Soul Calibur world easily.
Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny’s gameplay will be designed in conjunction with some of Soul Calibur 4′s elements, so you’ll see a handful of the awesome features from the console version, such as critical finishers and armour breaking. One thing to keep in mind is that the Star Wars characters won’t be making an appearance, so you’ll see no Darth Vader, Yoda or Apprentice in the PSP version. That’s it for now, but there will be more updates on this hopefully in the near future. My personal conclusion: The PSP is definitely making a comeback this year.
