Capcom brings nostalgia to PSP
According to GameSpy, Chris Kramer, from Capcom, has confirmed that Capcom will be releasing PS1 games for the PSP throughout the year of 2009, all of which will be downloadable via the “PSP” PlayStation Network. Apparently Capcom will be looking for some community-input as to which PS1 titles should be released, but in the end, it all comes down to their final decisions.
A thought given by Chris suggests that Capcom might be planning a list of possible titles, thereafter releasing that list onto Capcom Unity for gamers to give their vote. It seems that the company goal is to deliver “between 20 and 40 titles to the PSN over the next several months.” The PSP really seems to have a spectacular year ahead of it – possibly its greatest since launch. However this idea of reviving old classic PS1 games to the PSP, while it sounds great and exciting, still makes you wonder that those who downgraded (hacked) their PSP’s already have free, complete access to any PS1 title out there – so it really just comes across as compensation to those who are still fully legal. At least that’s just my opinion, but hey, I’m not complaining, because an idea like this is a really great one for the PSP, especially if you’re one for nostalgia.
