Uncharted 2 will not need an installation

Apparently there were rumours circulating around that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves would have an initial install of 1.7gb, but it seems that Naughty Dog, the developers, have stepped in and extinguished said rumours, by announcing that Uncharted 2 will not need an install at all. Posted on Twitter, Naughty Dog’s co-president, Christophe Balestra, gave the final word: “Uncharted 2 does not require any install.” This means you won’t have to sit through a slightly tedious initial intallation before playing, but will instead be able to jump right into the action. Hopefully though, the in-game load times will be at a minimum.

Usually I try to avoid these short pieces of news, but considering that it’s Uncharted 2, one of the PS3′s most anticipated titles, any good news would be welcomed. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be released in October of 2009 (in case you missed the previous announcement) exclusively on PS3.
