Fable 3 announced at GamesCom
Lionhead Studios’ Peter Molyneux officially revealed Fable 3 today at the German gamescom show. It was stated that Fable 3 would continue to use the theme of Albion, but this time from a perspective of revolution. The following information was revealed on the focus of the game in an interview with Peter Molyneux: “It’s always tricky when a sequel comes along on the same platform – traditionally this is when sales drop off. So with Fable III we’re going to take a bold step forward. With the Fable franchise we want people to expect the unexpected, but for the time being we’re just going to be talking about the story. So in Fable the player was one of many heroes, while in Fable II the player was the only hero – but in Fable III we’re allowing you to be a rebel hero, trying to overthrow a tyrant to become the ruler of Albion yourself.”
At this point details are very scarce, right down to which platforms Fable 3 will appear on, but I’m guessing that it will most likely, once again, be an Xbox360 exclusive title. I never had the opportunity to sit down and play Fable 2, so I guess I can’t really comment on the effectiveness of making a third Fable title. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else to say on this subject, but once eGamer learns more we’ll let you know.
