God of War Collection coming to Blue-ray for PS3
Sony announced today that they have plans to release the God of War Collection this “holiday season” for the PlayStation 3, which ultimately means the PS3 will be receiving some God of War action before 2010, where God of War 3 is scheduled for release. The God of War Collection features reworked and enhanced versions of the first two games, both God of War 1 and 2, on a single Blue-ray disk at full 1280 x 720 resolution. Both games will be graphically upgraded, featuring anti-aliased graphics running at 60 frames per second. Even better for God of War fans is that the God of War Collection will also have Trophy support included in both games. Scott Rohde, vice president of Worldwide Studios America, said the following on the God of War Collection: “We are excited today to announce God of War Collection. Our fans spoke and we listened; thanks to our partnership with Bluepoint Games, fans and newcomers to the series can experience the epic God of War and God of War II saga in stunning 720p on PS3. This Blu-ray Disc compilation brings Kratos to PS3 even earlier than expected.”
So effectively this is the perfect opportunity for PS3 owners who haven’t yet played God of War to do just that – and in upgraded graphics to boot. The God of War Collection will be priced at $39.99 USD (which equates to R310), which is actually quite an awesome deal to get both games, enhanced, on one disc. Look out for the God of War Collection towards the end of this year.
