Second free Batman: Arkham Asylum DLC detailed

The second free DLC map pack for Batman: Arkham Asylum would have been released today (or it will be very soon). Titled “Prey in the Darkness”, this map pack brings an additional two challenge maps to the game. The first map, Heart of Darkness, is a free-flow combat map which tasks players with battling waves of enemies at the Arkham Pumping Station. The second map, Hothouse Prey, is another Invisible Predator map which requires you to hide in the shadows and take out all of the enemies, without being seen, in the Abandoned Glasshouse. Both last week’s free DLC pack, Insane Night, and today’s Prey in the Darkness are free and are available on the PS3′s PlayStation Network and the Xbox360′s XboxLIVE. However it seems that in North America this content is exclusive to the PS3, while it will be on Xbox360, as well as PS3, in Europe. This was confirmed by Eidos, although we don’t have the exact reasoning for it yet. I’m not entirely sure if this content will be arriving on the PC version of the game, as currently there is no mention of it.

It’s quite surprising that there isn’t a price tag attatched to these downloadable content packs, because let’s face it, Batman: Arkham Asylum is an incredible game and many who currently own it would have gladly paid for the DLC packs. Hey, I’m not complaining in the least, I mean, maybe Rocksteady are just friendly guys, but it does manage to get me a little bit curious. To all Batman: Arkham Asylum [console] owners, downloading the Prey in the Darkness DLC pack should be your top priority right about now.
