Gran Turismo 5 – The most beautiful racer ever created?

Gran Turismo 5 – The most beautiful racer ever created?

Yeah, I used the word ‘beautiful’, but with good reason. A handful of new screenshots from Gran Turismo 5 were recently released and to put it mildly: they’ll blow your mind. The Gran Turismo series has long been known for fantastically realistic visuals and it seems that that the upcoming PlayStation 3 racer, Gran Turismo 5, is [beautifully] continuing that trend. Despite the fact that these screenshots are from the game’s replay mode, which probably has slightly better visuals and extra effects, the screens are still a solid indicator of what to expect from the final game. Gran Turismo 5, without question, is quite possibly the best-looking car racing game ever created. Gran Turismo 5 is expected to be released in March of 2010 exclusively on the PlayStation 3. So without further delay, check out the screenshots below.

    Wow, oh my fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Those are hot cars, and the graphics. Sigh.

    I don’t wanna have to buy a PS3 though :p

    Damn!

  • Tody

Haha yeah, that was more or less my reaction when I saw them :D I haven’t really been following Gran Turismo 5′s progress, but once I saw these screens, hell, I’m suddenly interested :P It’s been a while since I last played a racing game, aside from Burnout Paradise, so I might just end up giving this one a go.

prologue is awesome enough as it is >.>

might kick bk onto the ps3 to give the full game try ^.^

Anything can blow my mind but these totally BLASTED my mind, especially the 8th screen shot because the one guys door was open, probably due to a crash sending him outta control.

  • sage of the six paths

I meant to say spinning outta control, my bad.

  • Itachi-owns-all

No no no, these pictures haven’t blown my mind, they have BLASTED my mind. Friekin genius pappa :D

this game definitely looks AWESOME. i’m not even going to try to explain how good those screenshots look. hopefully these awesome visuals are backed up by a game that’s much more enjoyable and fun. GT 4 was quite frustrating.

  • Madlinkosi

Hey Tody… The last GT was disappointing… Even though we are seeing the unbelievable graphics on GT 5, will we see a marked improvement in terms of game play ???

  • Tody

    Hey Madlinkosi :)
I’ve never been a follower of the Gran Turismo series, or any racers for that matter, save for a few, but I guess only time can tell whether this game will turn out great. Unfortunately I can’t answer your question (unless it’s a rhetorical question?) because all I would be able to tell you is what the fans and developers have to say. Until the final game is released, we can only speculate, guess and hope.

I just couldn’t believe it when I looked at these screenshots – Wow, it’s just amazing :D

  • Itachi-owns-all

I agree with Toasty and Madlinkosi. GT4 was really frustrating unless you were super good at it. I’m expecting a much improved gameplay system, ‘cos Forza looks pretty damn sick

If this level of visuals keeps up in car games, pretty soon they’re going to look better than real life itself :D. Well, that is what Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi said about GT5 when speaking to “NowGamer”. His reasoning was surprisingly logical, although I couldn’t really tell if he was being overly serious, using expressions and figures of speech or completely joking – Or all of the above. :P
