The 45 Day Chinese DotA Marathon-League-Thing

The 45 Day Chinese DotA Marathon-League-Thing

One game – Eight Teams – 45 Days — You read that correctly – don’t worry.

China’s eSport growth is said to be absolutely phenomenal, where it is apparently so big that they are willing to host a 45 day DotA marathon. The event does not yet have a title, but it will however run from the 1st of December until the middle of January.

There will be a prize of 10,000 euros and the tournament will pretty much just see eight teams of DotA staying in Beijing and having fun.

While only top teams are invited, it won’t be as hectic as it sounds, in fact we’re expecting it to be a couple of games a week where the rest of the time the players can just do their own thing — similar to the Korean StarCraft proleague tournaments.

Although this is a good idea for a competition, and it’s really enthusiastic, there are problems. European players might not be able to obtain a passport for such a long period of time, and the tournament is during the Christmas season.

The tournament will award players with accommodation and also computers to practice on.

All we can say is… Overseas DotA players, uhm, easy life?

The prize money really doesnt match the amount of effort that will be required to be away from home for that long ^_^

Spending 45 days in china really wouldn’t be a problem for me, I was in china few years back and absolutely loved it.

1stly teams would be sponsored so there living expenses / flight expenses should be covered

2ndly seeing the rest of china isn’t all the expensive either :)

A holiday to play games sounds awesome! :D
I’m liking the sound of this, but I do agree that 45 days is a long time to be away from home, not to mention, for those who celebrate Christmas, you won’t be at home to do so.

    Still! This sounds cool :P
