500-Man FRAG Lan Hits Durban In December

In a few weeks time will see the ‘biggest’ gaming even in Durban. Frag LAN will be aiming at a full 500-man LAN with 90% of the network being Gigabit.

The organisers are requesting that you buy your ticket as soon as possible.

Bookings will only be accepted once the seat has been paid for, and there will be no reservation without payment.

The Details:

Date: 11-13 December 2009
Time: 10:00 (11th) – 10:00 (13th)
Place: Edgewood College Dininghall, UKZN, Pinetown
Cost: R200

There will be various tournaments played, and the games include:

Call of Duty 4: 5 vs 5 Search & Destroy (Promod Live – AGASA Maps & FRAG Ruleset)
DotA: 5 vs 5
Crysis Wars: Team Deathmatch 2 vs 2
Counter-Strike Source: 5 vs 5 KOTH (minimum of 8 teams needed to enter ; pay2play tournament)

Frag staff are trying their best to confirm the prizes. It was said that the prize pool will be around R30,000.

The event is hoping to award prizes to teams as far down as 5th place.

Other extra’s for the event includes:

  • A pool
  • Volleyball
  • Pool Table
  • Xbox setups
  • Give aways
  • Promotions

    To all the people in Durban, come and check it out, its definitely worthwhile and always good fun. A couple of the boys from Jozi and CT came last year also (Death, Nakor, Clitsy, Rastaman) and I think they enjoyed themselves.

    FRAG as a brand and event has continued to grow in the current year despite the global economic crisis BS. I still think its one of the top LAN’s in the country when it comes to prizes, so if you’ve got a team, come and compete.

    I stand to be corrected but prizes go down to 4th place at this Lan for COD and Dota, not sure about the rest as these are the 2 regular comps.

    ;-) lol….jitters…former UKZn junkie i presume….sigh …i remember the days in the DC lans….any way….a bit expensive entry fee for my liking…rather go drinking or best to be club hopping……..
