EA Says That Bad Company 2 Beta’s Are Bogus!

EA Says That Bad Company 2 Beta’s Are Bogus!

According to the Battlefield blog, there are apparently various phishing emails going around. These emails include a fake invitation to a Battlefield: Bad Company 2 beta. EA Games says that there is no such thing as a Bad Company 2 beta.

The official statement from Gordon Van Dyke, the BF producer said went a little something like this:

As of today there is no official Battlefield Bad Company 2 Beta and I wanted to warn people out there of fake/hoax sites perpetrating to have a sign-up for one. We do not have any form of beta sign-ups, nor would we ever endorse such a practice or shady url to do so. Please do not let these e-tards take advantage of your enthusiasm for BFBC2 in their scam and only give them the middle-finger if anything. So, unless you read it here or from our official Twitter page it isn’t real.

EA Games has obviously seen what these invitations look like, and we’re pretty curious as to what they include. You’d probably have to give up your Steam ID, password and of course, your dignity.

Remember, be smart, don’t get caught by phishermen.

Cool warning :P Nice to see EA step up and let the public know what’s going on, especially about something like this. Then again it should be expected of them, but it’s still good to see. :D

I’m actually excited to play this game, strange considering I didn’t really take much interesting in the first Bad Company. Maybe it’s because of the way this game is looking and the promise of an upgraded PC version that’s gotten me interested. :)

Yeah. Most people would fall for this as they are so hungry to get their hands on games.

Giving away Steam information… Not a good idea!
