EA Sports MMA Signs StrikeForce — First Video Teaser Released

EA Sports MMA Signs StrikeForce — First Video Teaser Released

StrikeForce, the top-dog competition to UFC, has signed a massive deal with EA Games for their up and coming MMA title. EA Sports MMA will rival THQ’s UFC 2009: Undisputed when it goes on sale featuring a load of crazy cage fighting dog eaters.

For those unfamiliar with StrikeForce and UFC, these two companies are the big guns in the mixed martial arts market. They both have really good fighters. The difference between StrikeForce and UFC is definitely noticeable, as UFC runs themselves on a Pay Per View network while StrikeForce seems to have limitations from the CBS.

We’re not really going to get into which one is better, as its all about personal choice. Moreover, people support the markets which support their favourite fighters.

EA Sports MMA have apparently signed some big names such as Brett Rogers, Jake Shields, Fedor Emelianenko, Jason Miller, Randy Couture, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, Gegard Mousasi and Renato Sobral. The commentary team will be headed by Frank Shamrock and Mauro Ranallo, while the ring announcer will be Jimmy Lennon Jr.

Alongside all of these names, StrikeForce and EA Sports signed referee “Big John” McCarthy as their top official.

The THQ and UFC have now got real competition business and gaming-wise. These two companies will continue to battle it out.

EA Sports has finally released a teaser video of the new game. This teaser was showed on StrikeForce just before the main event which saw Brett Rogers face off (interesting choice of words — tell you why in a bit) against Fedor Emelianenko.

Fedor is the world’s best heavy weight. He’s won over 30 fights, where his only loss comes from a cut which caused the fight to stop. Brett Rogers has won 10 fights in a row, which is pretty decent.

The video features these two fighters in the game, where you can’t exactly see who wins. It’s pretty neutral. In real life, well, Fedor knocked Brett’s face off in the second round.

Good Game, thanks for playing.

EA Sports MMA will be available for PS3 and Xbox. Expect shipping around 2010.
