New Medal of Honour to be set in “current day warfare”
Now who could have seen this one coming? A report on MVC confirms that EA’s next Medal of Honour title will take place in current day warfare. Personally this isn’t surprisingly in the least given the success of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I guess I don’t even need to explain how overdone the World War 2 era is in gaming right now either – I’m quite sure that we’re all sick of America repeatedly showing their “heroism” in World War 2 titles by now. Anyway, according to the report a “reliable industry” told MVC that “it’s a new take on the modern warfare idea – and will really help give the series the kick up the arse it needs”. By the series, he is referring to Medal of Honour and, quite honestly, I forgot that series even existed. Word is that an EA spokesperson said that the firm had nothing to add to Monday’s confirmation of a new Medal Of Honor game from its Q2 earnings call.
This sounds interesting now doesn’t it? When we hear more about this secret squirrel title we’ll let you know. Let’s see what EA can come up with.
