PS3 gets early, exclusive access to Bad Company 2 Beta – followed by PC

EA has announced that PlayStation 3 owners will get the earliest access to a Battlefield: Bad Company 2 online beta. The beta demo will release on the 19th of November this month and PS3 owners will get access to 24-player Arica Harbor map which includes the standard Battlefield vehicles, classes and weapons. If you must know, the map will see the Americans (yay?) up against the Russians (yay! *cough* I meant “Oh NO!”). Rob Dyer, SVP, Publisher Relations, SCEA made the following comment regarding this news: “This is an outstanding opportunity for PlayStation gamers to get early access to one of the most action-packed and polished shooters in the marketplace with Battlefield: Bad Company 2. We’re happy to help DICE achieve their superior level of multiplayer excellence in the game.” While it’s not 100% confirmed how Europeans will gain access to this beta, those in the U.S can ensure their beta spot by pre-ordering Bad Company 2 from Best Buy or GameStop.

Mostly like this news won’t mean much to you since you probably won’t be importing this game from an overseas website, but in addition to this, it was revealed that DICE and EA will begin a PC beta starting in December and, next year, will release a proper demo for all three consoles, namely PC, PS3 and Xbox360. Battlefield Bad Company 2 will release on the 2nd of March 2010 in the U.S. and on the 5th of March in Europe. I have high hopes for DICE’s Bad Company 2, especially with the promise of an upgraded PC version, so we’ll be following this game a little more closely from now on. Oh, by the way, I was joking about the American and Russian thing. Or was I?
