Supreme Commander 2 due to release in Spring
Square Enix have revealed that Supreme Commander 2, Gas Powered Games’ RTS sequel to Supreme Commander back in 2007, will be released in Europe in Spring 2010 – which is around March. Alongside this announcement, Square Enix also released a number of new screenshots for the game, which you’ll see below. Supreme Commander 2 is set 25 years after the first game and will feature an extensive single player campaign mode and online multiplayer. This game marks one of the first Western-developed games to be published in Western regions by Square Enix – and Gas Powered Games Creative Director Chris Taylor seemed to be bursting with excitement, making the following comments alongside this news: “The partnership with Square Enix has been a highlight of my career. I couldn’t be more proud of what the team has accomplished, as the game has continually exceeded all of my expectations throughout its development.” Like we haven’t heard that one before, right?
Anyway, Supreme Commander 2 will be released in Europe in Spring of 2010 on PC and Xbox360 – and we in South Africa should get the game the same day as Europe. The North American release date will either be at the same time or a few days earlier I’m guessing. Check out the screenshots below.
