FFXIII boldy claimed to last 50 to 60 hours long
Square Enix have claimed, somewhat boldly, that Final Fantasy XIII will be a damn long game, taking you roughly 50 to 60 hours to complete the main quest. I say this is a bold claim because if you take into account that nearly all games released this year clock in after 7-10 hours of gameplay and…you can see the difference. I know, I know, Final Fantasy games have always been long, awesome experiences in the past, but with the whole next-gen thing (referring mostly to graphics) and all, games just aren’t long anymore. Personally, if this is true, then FFXIII might just be worth every cent you pay for it – in addition to all other reasons of course. In a recent interview, Final Fantasy XIII director Motomu Toriyama stated: “For XIII, the size of the entire game is considerable. Just running through the main story takes experienced players over 50 hours. For the first time, I think it’s possible to play through in full in about 60 hours or so.”
Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan later this month, while North America and Europe (and us South Africans) will receive the game on the 9th of March 2010. This news probably gets you even more excited, right?
