New Medal of Honour Will Be “The Most Authentic Modern War Experience”
Back in early November, it was up in the air that the next Medal of Honour title would be set in current day warfare. Now, EA have stepped up to officially confirm this fact and the new game, simply called Medal Of Honour, will indeed be set in the modern age. The game plans not only to revive the series, but it also promises to deliver the “the most authentic modern war experience” for fall 2010, which is round about October for us. EA Los Angeles are in charge of the single player campaign of [Modern] Medal Of Honour, which will have players battle it out in Afghanistan. Players will be put into the shoes of a solo solider, who is in fact a Tier 1 Operator, which is “a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle.” Pretty intense. According to EA, this title will give gamers the chance to “step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to a new enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile battlefield conditions of present day Afghanistan.”
Battlefield Developer DICE will develop the multiplayer component of the game, which is definitely good news. This modern reboot of the Medal Of Honour franchise will debut at the Spike Videogame Awards on the 12th of December, alongside Halo: Reach and a completely new Star Wars game. Medal Of Honour will be released in 2010 on PC, PS3 and Xbox360. Until we get some solid information on it, which will most likely be on the 12th of December, the game’s official website has some things for you to look at. Check out the game’s box art below.
Personally, I’ll reserve judgment for when I actually get to see the game. I am surprisingly more eager to see some in-game footage than I thought I would be and that’s quite disturbing. Perhaps it was the mention of DICE that exploded my mind. Anyway, my peculiar issues aside, let’s wait for the 12th of December to see more.
