Sony’s Motion Controller Not Yet Named — Gem Was Only A Prototype Name

Sony’s Motion Controller Not Yet Named — Gem Was Only A Prototype Name

Reports from Sony reveal that EA Boss, John Riccitiello might have slipped the name for the new up and coming PlayStation 3 motion controller. John said that the name would be “Gem”, where Sony then had to do some damage control by saying that “Gem” isn’t necessarily the name of the device.

The term Gem was apparently the codename for the product, and according to Sony the official name has not yet been announced.

EA’s Boss recently said that he expects massive changes and enthusiasm about the motion control, called Natal and what sounded like the word “Gem”.

Project Natal from Microsoft has been in the news quite a bit lately, and this is because the company creates so much hype about it.

We feel that Sony’s unnamed motion controller should be called the WiggleMaster 3000, ‘coz that’s a cool name.

They should just call it “light bulb, on a stick”.

  • sage of the six paths

That comma should rather be an ellipses, so my official suggestion is “Light-Bulb… On a Stick”
