VGA: Prince of Persia – The Forgotten Sands Debut Trailer
Prince of Persia – The Forgotten Sands marks the return of the Prince of Persia franchise, except the problem is that it’s being released alongside the PoP movie, which isn’t good. All we know about the game is that The Forgotten Sands will continue the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time series and will include “many of the fan-favorite elements” and “new gameplay innovations that gamers have come to expect from the Prince of Persia brand.” I’m not going to argue with the fact that the Sands of Time series was really a trilogy that ended a long time ago, but I will put it out there that this new game complete destroys the entire concept of a trilogy. Anyway, I’m not sure when Ubisoft will be making the sequel to Prince of Peria 4, the one with that Elika magic girl and noob Prince, but that’s tomorrow’s issue, because the Forgotten Sands is bringing back the Sands of Time. Personally, I’d rather have the Sands of Time than that other Prince of Persia.
You can view the debut trailer below. Prince of Persia – The Forgotten Sands will be released on “consoles and handhelds” in May of 2010, alongside the movie. I’m seriously hoping they don’t screw up this game, because the Sands of Time trilogy stands today as one of the best gaming series’ in history – and I’ve always wondered what the games would be like in next-gen. I guess we can’t do anything but wait for actual gameplay footage.
