Gran Turismo 5 is 90% Complete, According To Yamauchi-san
Polyphony Digital’s Kazunori Yamauchi has announced that development of the much anticipated Gran Turismo 5 is roughly 90% complete, which serves to tell us why the Japanese version of the game received a delay – and why our version was pushed back even further.
This comes as a bit of a surprise to me because earlier it was said that GT5 could be released at any time, it was just a matter of making it better. I could be wrong though, that’s just what I recall.
Anyway, speaking with USA Today, Kazunori Yamauchi commented: “About 90% of the game is done. We are just working on the last 10% and polishing up everything.”
He also commented on the upcoming PlayStation 3 Motion Controller, and said that “It might be used to maybe control the user interface like you would a mouse, but that’s the extent we would use it for,” said Yamauchi. So no driving with that motion controller it would seem.
Gran Turismo 5 was originally going to be released in Japan in March of 2010, but right now we can’t give you a release date. As for our version of the game, that’s going to be a long time from now. We’ll keep you updated.
