One Week Leagues — A New Gaming Start Up For Competitive Online Play

Interested in online gaming? Like playing leagues? Well, a new start up called One Week Leagues (OWL) has started to cater for the gaming community. OWL has started a few leagues which are already active, and more are coming soon.

Teams are required to play as many games as possible, and they will need to confirm their scores. At the end of the week the league winners are announced on the site – http://oneweekleagues.co.za

There will then be a two week registration for the next set of leagues to start.

OWL is said to be a tool which helps create leagues, and it can be used for any sport, not just gaming. There will soon be invitational leagues, followed by premiere leagues and lastly double and single elimination leagues.

Only problem we find with this is that teams aren’t really forced to play. There should be something pressurizing teams to play the games, because online play is really annoying when people always rearrange the dates.

The game list so far:

  • Counter Strike Source
  • Counter Strike 1.6
  • DotA
  • CoD 4
  • HoN
  • 3v3 CoD MW2
  • TF2
