Even Sony Says That Heavy Rain Is A Gamble
Lucy Duncan, a product manager from Sony has said that the up and coming PS3 exclusive, Heavy Rain is an innovative gamble, which seems to be a gamble that Sony can afford to take.
“Being Sony, I suppose we have a little more luxury to take a gamble on more original and innovative IP — and Heavy Rain definitely fits that category,” she explains. “I suppose the risk is lessened if you have faith in the team behind the game and David and Guillaume and the guys at Quantic Dreams have really impressed, not just in terms of their back catalogue — Fahrenheit — but also in terms of the tech demo’s they showed in the run up to Heavy Rain.”
The game is a massive gamble indeed, but somehow this game has caught my attention — and I don’t even own a PS3. The thing is, Sony are risking a new styled game which is made for a specific market, this is some how a safe-danger. For instance, they won’t loose too much if it fails, but then again, they won’t gain too much if it’s successful. Overall, it’s a safe bet, or gamble — whatever you want to call it.
