Preview: Bioshock 2 – Seas of Dreams

The near future will see a successor to one of the best games to rock 2008. BioShock 2.

In the wake of success regarding the first game, 2K games have decided to capitalize on a sequel which should make them a bit more loot and also give their fans something they’ve been wanting. 2K have taken the community’s views into consideration and have added what they felt could benefit the game.

In BioShock 2 you take on the role of a Big Daddy who uncovers the plot of Sofia Lamba, the new ruler of Rapture, who has a plan to use Big Sisters to over run Rapture. It is set 10 years after the first game so the chance of meeting people from the first game is very slim, but we might still meet them.. When they are old, or something.

Where did the Big Sisters come from? Well it seems that an ex-little sister took over a big daddy and became the first Big Sister. There is more to the storyline, however we want to keep the suspense flowing.

Storyline aside, we are more interested in some of the newer features which were added. The biggest addition is the multi-player component as the original did not have multi-player functionality whatsoever. Remember, it is never a bad thing to have the multi-player component, as it pro-longs the life of the game. Also, if it is done correctly, well, let’s just say it is one of the most awesome experiences. Ever.

It seems as if we are going to be playing in the era around when the civil war broke Rapture apart. There are many modes which range from one person being the Big Daddy, to taking part in an actual citizen vs. citizen civil war. Your freedom will range from trying to duke it out, or be a sly and capture a turret or big daddy suit. Your choices vary, so remember, make wise choices. We should be seeing elements reminiscent if Unreal and Unreal Tournament by Digital Extremes which has over 10 years experience in making multi-player components.

The graphics are astounding and the engine has been improved and you can now dual-wield weapons and there might be more surprises in store for you. The award winning narrative continues and you begin your journey into another arc that will most likely take many hours from your life.

Here are some multiplayer pictures to enjoy.
