SEGA Reveals Sonic the Hedgehog 4

Remember that mystery-ish game teased as “Project Needlemouse”? Personally, I never really followed that teaser business regarding Needlemouse, but I did have some ideas as to what it may be. Today, SEGA confirms my suspicion, by revealing that “Project Needlemouse” is, in fact, Sonic the Hedgehog 4. This title will be the first real Sonic sequel in apparently over 15 years. The game will be released episodically digitally, so you’ll have to download it. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will be a 2D game featuring 3D graphics. Unfortunately, because of how weak the past Sonic games have been, I can’t say I’m really excited about this one, but that’s just me. Who knows, maybe this Sonic game will revive the series. Isn’t optimism a beautiful thing?

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 will arrive on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox360.
