Street Fighter IV iPhone Character Roster, Pricing Revealed

A little while ago Capcom announced that Street Fighter IV would be making its way to the iPhone, and that they were interested in developing for handhelds. Confirmed today by Capcom, Street Fighter IV for iPhone, releasing in March 2010, will include eight characters, namely Ryu, Ken, Guile, Blanka, Chun-Li, Dhalsim, M. Bison and Abel. Judging from screenshots we’ve seen of the game, it does look to be quite visually impressive, featuring the same graphical style and feel of its big brother. The controls, on the other hand, look to be quite questionable and might end up being quite difficult to get used to.

Street Fighter IV will cost $10 (approximately R76), which I think is quite pricey when taking into account that there are only eight characters. Although you will, in addition to being able to battle AI opponents, have the option to fight it out with your friends, as Bluetooth multiplayer is built in. Personally, while it looks good and cool, I’d much rather prefer a PSP or DS iteration of the game, if they’re going for handhelds that is. Let’s wait and see how this one turns out.
