The StarCraft II Requirements Previously Leaked Are Fake

Blizzard recently had to do a bit of damage control as someone ‘leaked’ StarCraft II requirements onto the interwebs. The requirements released saw low PC specs for the game.

The Beta for SC2 is almost here, and we’ll only find out the specs when this arrives.

These were the fake specs released:

Required

Video Card: 3D graphics processor with Hardware Transform and Lighting with 32 MB VRAM such as an ATI Radeon 7200 or NVIDIA GeForce 2 class card or better
Hard Drive Space: 15GB

Recommended

Processor: Intel Pentium D, AMD 64 X2
Operating System: Windows XP / XP64 (Service Pack 3), Windows Vista / Vista64 (service Pack 1), Windows 7 Home Premium

After these specs Blizzard announced that these are not for the StarCraft II beta test. The company is currently trying to track down how these details found its way onto the support page, and they suspect that this was from the World of Warcraft spec sheet.

Blizzard said that the real specs will be unveiled when the beta date is announced.
