Windows 7 Surpasses Vista For Hardcore PC Users
I’ve been waiting to hear when this would happen and it looks like, as of today, there will be no more waiting on my part. It seems that Microsoft’s newest operating system, Windows 7, has already overtaken Windows Vista as hardcore PC users’ preferred operating system. A very large 28.53% of Steam users report that Windows 7 is their current operating system, while former Vista users make up 27.91% of Windows 7′s userbase. The remainder are still using Windows XP, our old favourite. Taking into account that Windows Vista was released in January 2007, and Windows 7 was released in October 2009, it’s pretty evident that Windows 7 has overtaken its predecessor in record time – among hardcore PC users of course.
