Bayonetta sequel hinted by SEGA
This news sort of reaches out to me and stabs me in the eyeballs, because seemingly unfairly Bayonetta was one of the games I never got around to finishing, even though I was relatively interested in playing that strange game without any shame (rhymed, unintentional). You know, that game that looked for any opportunity to show off the protagonist’s, Bayonetta’s, elongated spasmodic body.
Anyway, my issues aside, SEGA has hinted that they’re interested in “sequel-ising” Bayonetta, among other games.
“We want to get the core games right before anything else,” SEGA president, Mike Hayes told CVG. “We’ve got our shooter with AvP and our RPG with Alpha Protocol – we really want to make those into franchises.”
“If you think about it, we can sequel-ise Bayonetta, AVP, Alpha Protocol and we can make a hit of something like Vanquish. Add that to Football Manager and Virtua Tennis – we actually have a broad portfolio.”
So are we going to hear about Bayonetta 2 soon? Personally, I would hope not, because not every game needs to be “sequel-ised” and I need to still play the first game!
