GoW III developers have ‘no idea’ what they’re doing next
It has already been mentioned that God of War III, while it’s the end of the trilogy, might not be the end of the God of War series entirely. For now, they’re putting it to bed for a while. Due to this, most probably, gamers have already been asking the developers what they plan on working on next, which I believe is thinking a bit too much ahead since, well, God of War III hasn’t even been released yet. Still, it’s a valid question, no doubt. However, as it stands, the studio seem to have no idea what they’re going to do next, which isn’t all that surprising since they’ve just completed their ultimate series and are most likely taking heavy breathers.
“I have no idea! I just finished three years of my life on God of War III and seven years on the God of War series – I have kids younger than that! We’re excited to work on large projects but it’s not a decision that’s made flippantly and we’re going to take our time with it,” Senior Producer Steve Caterson told Industry Gamers.
It seems that Steve Carteson has been so busy with God of War III that the only game he’s played in the past few years is Dead Space, EA’s popular action horror title.
“The only game I had the chance to play through the past few years was Dead Space; there are other games that have released that I want to have a chance to sit down and have those experiences! Actually playing some of those great games out there and seeing what other developers are doing… I’m looking forward to it – that’s the best part of finishing a game!”
He reaffirmed that God of War III will not be the end of the franchise, but will be the last game for a while, with the following comment: “Well, God of War III is the end of the trilogy. We didn’t leave you on a cliffhanger but I think it’s not the end of the franchise. I’m looking forward to do something different if we can. It also might be nice to return to the franchise if we can and bring all that knowledge back from wherever we go. Anything’s possible. It’s premature to say what it might be, since I don’t even know what I’ll be doing next week!”
Personally, I’m not thinking about any of this right now, even though I’m a little curious as to what they might get up to next. I mean, God of War III is finally releasing in just over a week, I can’t wait!
