Modern Warfare 2, 25 Million Played It Online, DLC Coming

Robert Bowling, community manager for Modern Warfare developers Infinity Ward, has put up a Tweet which reveals that, since the game’s release in November of last year, over 25 million gamers have played Modern Warfare 2 across the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox360.

The tweet reads, rather excitedly: “…annnd we JUST hit 25 MILLION unique players on Modern Warfare 2. Insanity! Also, got a lot of #MW2 DLC details coming this week! FINALLY!”

Note that this massive figure isn’t counting the amount of players who are currently playing Modern Warfare 2, but instead this figure of 25 million just shows how many individuals have, at some point or another, played Modern Warfare 2 online. Still, it doesn’t stop it from being impressive. Look out sometime this week for an update on those DLC details when they come.
