Warner Bros. Announce Lord of the Rings: War in the North

Warner Bros. Interactive has officially announced a new game under the Lord of the Rings name (that rhymed, unintentional), namely Lord of the Rings: War in the North. We don’t know a great deal about the game at this point in time, but we what we do know is that it’s an RPG currently being developed by Snowblind Studios (guys behind Justice League Heroes and Champions of Norrath) and is due to release on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox360 in 2011.

Ryan Geithman, head of Snowblind Studios, describes the gameplay as “a natural evolution of the acclaimed RPG gameplay that Snowblind has consistently delivered over the past years.” Lord of the Rings: War in the North is not just an RPG, but rather an RPG with online co-op, where up to three players will engage in the War of the Ring, traveling to places and meeting famous characters from the movies as well as “unseen lands, story elements and characters from Middle-earth.”
