Farsight: PlayStation Move opens up PS3 to new range of genres
Jay Obernolte, the big boss of Farsight and developer of Brunswick Pro Bowling, has given his views on Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Move motion controller, saying that it will open up the PlayStation 3 to a whole new range of game genres.
“It opens up the PS3 to a whole new collection of game genres that really were not workable on it before.”
Obernolte also compared the bowling experience that the Wii Remote provides to that of what Move will, going on to say that Sony’s Move wins when it comes to versatility.
“The experience of bowling is totally different in an optical motion mechanic than in the motion mechanic of the PS3 Motion Controller, because when you bowl, you bring your arm back on the back-swing, and how you tilt your wrist during the forward swing of your arm has a lot to do with where the ball’s going to go in the lane.”
“The amount of hook it gets and the direction of the ball when it leaves your hand are very difficult to get out of an optical mechanic.”
The PlayStation Move controller is due to release this Fall, which is around October for us.
