In Development: DiRT 3

Codemasters appear to have “accidentally” let slip that they’re working on the third game in the Colin McRae: DiRT, that being DiRT 3 of course. I say “accidentally”, with inverted commas, because we’re not entirely sure if it was a mistake or intentional, but judging by the manner in which it was said it looks to be a slip up.

During an interview with IGN, in which Codemasters were discussing the weather effects featured in their F1 2010 title, the game’s chief designer said, “One of the added benefits is that the weather system we’ve developed will now become part of the EGO engine so it can feed into all of our future projects such as DiRT 3.”

While there aren’t any details yet, that looks to be pretty solid confirmation. Until we hear more then – probably at E3.
