MSSA Sign A Massive Sponsorship Deal With ASUS South Africa

MSSA Sign A Massive Sponsorship Deal With ASUS South Africa

Mind Sports South Africa, or more commonly hated as the MSSA, has signed a deal with ASUS South Africa for a sponsorship agreement. ASUS is an internationally recognized hardware manufacturer with loads, and loads of products.

The MSSA on the other hand is a member of SASCOC. Sounds dirty, but in fact it stands for South African Confederation of Sport and Olympic Committee.

The partnership between the MSSA and ASUS will see National and Interschool grace leagues grace the local community.

Interschool leagues, you say?

For the record, our stance with the MSSA is neutral. While we do have a few problems, it is admirable that they are pushing forward with their ideas and always signing new sponsors.

I got weird stares when I read your sentence and LOL’ed in the internet cafe.
The dark cirles around the guy eyes makes me think he hasnt been sleeping.
I bet he was kept awake by the stress of the deal.
I wonder that the sponsorship entails….

Umm I’m just going to repaste my comment on dogaming here as I don’t really feel like typing it again. I do have to point out that either your article headline is sarcastic or you believe R45,000 to be a lot of money.

Well on the plus side, at least Asus knows that R45k is a drop in the bucket for them and loosing it is no big deal. I’ve seen more money sponsored for a single event. More than likely what isn’t being said is that R45k is the probation money for MSSA who will have to report how it is being used. If MSSA does well with the money they’ll probably be getting a whole lot more for the 2011 financial year.

MSSA do have an opportunity here to redeem themselves in the eyes of the community if they start opening their ears, and start welcoming the help from the people in the community that actually have the know-how when it comes to running tournaments, setting up the required infrastructures and support for the gamers on a competitive level, and actually have a solid strategic plan about how they’re going to go about developing the sport on a micro and macro scale. My money is bet on the fact that they did not consult enough people with the correct experience and know-how before they drew up a strategy (this is speculation on my part).

I would like to put in though, that I hope the MSSA does understand at this point that if they do stuff this sponsorship agreement up then the competitive side of our local industry will not recover again. It is vital for the survival of our competitive part to have corporate sponsors like ASUS, ATI, INTEL, and all the retailers/distributors interested and willing to give money. Most of the sponsors that have helped out in the past, no longer want too because of bad management and being F***** over by the organisations and the clans. If we get any more bad rep, it would take a miracle to recover from again.

Boet! It’s not massive as in 45K.. That’s not a big sponsorship. That can hardly feed three teams for a month.

It’s massive in the sense that they got ASUS to offer Jew-gold.. Like, they keep on getting money from sponsors and the potential with ASUS is massive — if the right folk are involved.

Like you said – Asus is huge, therefore it’s a massive deal for the MSSA.. But how will they use it?

When will people realise that MSSA is like a bad rash on the groin of the gaming community?

Didn’t ASUS bother to contact Incredible Connection and ask why they cancel their sponsorship with MSSA? Didn’t they bother to do any research at all about MSSA and all the negative publicity that surrounds them?

Then again, if ASUS’s support is anything to go by… I’m not really too shocked.

That’s quite harsh. But maybe MSSA drive a good deal… ?
