Overview: International Cricket 2010
International Cricket 2010 is Codemasters latest release since last summer’s smash hit Ashes Cricket 2009. Launching on the 18th of June for the PS3 and Xbox 360, International Cricket is going to take centre stage for a new generation in authentic cricket gaming.
The all new game feature called Action Cam will hoist players into a heart thumping, sweat dripping and electric intensity that nothing else but being on the pitch can provide. Providing almost first person camera angles, Action Cam removes players from the sidelines and throws them into the action. Feeling the sensation as your bowler storms off down the pitch to bowl at mach-speeds or the power and brute strength of the batsman smashing a 6 clear out of the grounds is what Action Cam is all about.
“We’re delighted to partner with Codemasters to develop the next leap forward in cricket gaming,” said Tony Parkes, Studio Director, Trickstar games. “Our passionate team of industry veterans, which includes development talent who have worked on the Brian Lara series and Ashes 2009, is determined to deliver the most immersive and intuitive cricket experience for all fans of the sport.”
Power Stick is a brand new batting system that allows for a 360˚ shot spectrum that completely smothers the gamer in countless shot opportunities. Precisely striking the ball through tiny spaces between fielders and hitting quick singles into the larger gaps produce a style of batting more fluid and natural than any previous cricket games.
Being officially licensed by the England and Wales Cricket Board as well as Cricket Australia, International Cricket 2010 can now feature official players, stadia, kit and an extensive array of game modes including new instant tournaments. Players can now put themselves and friends into the game by using the player and squad editors, allowing gamers to alter many different features and attributes of their athletes. Gamers can now contend for the crown as any of the expanded roster of 16 nations and experience the pristine surroundings of any of the 21 stadia.

“With a focus on taking gamers into the action like never before, International Cricket 2010 will deliver the most authentic cricket gaming yet,” said John Szoke, Producer, Codemasters. “Codemasters enjoys an unrivaled heritage in producing cricket games, and International Cricket 2010 will build on this success with a range of innovative gameplay features and enhancements.”
Complete with local and online multiplayer, International Cricket 2010 launches on June 18th.
