Rumour Has It That Sony’s PSP2 Will Sport Quad-Core Power With Touch Screen Functionality

It’s been hinted. It’s been suggested. And now, it’s officially labeled as rumoured. Sony’s PSP2 was recently expected to arrive at June’s E3 expo, however gaming sites around the globe are convinced that it’s untrue.

Sources have said that the hand-held game device will pack a punch so deadly that you might lose your eyes. Expect a quad-core CPU, a touch screen, the standard PlayStation button interface and two camera’s. One camera will record your feet, while the other will video your face.

The might even be 3G support, how’s that?

Apparently the PSP2 will only launch in 2011 where the reveal will be at Tokyo’s Game Show, or Gamescom in Germany later this year.

Now the Question is how much will a hand held device with the capabilities of a Quad-Core going to cost us?

  • http://egamer.co.za/ Tody

Yeah, KweeZy, that is definitely a good question. Not to mention that after the PSP basically died down completely, with only a handful of good titles each year, and after the release of the crappy PSPGo, gamers aren’t going to be that enthusiastic to pick it up.

Of course it will sell will with these features, especially in places like Japan where handheld gaming is huge, but yeah, since these features are only speculation and rumour at this point, it’s impossible to predict a price. But it will be high end, that’s for sure, as Sony really needs to put something good out into the market if they want to compete with the likes of Nintendo in the handheld range.

Well an iPhone with touch capabilities cost roughly 10K.

    So quad & touch & 3G?

Then again, the iPad costs similar and it’s bigger.

    So, about ~5k?

The PSP2 seems to have great potential maybe what kojima said might happen. You know the whole how he sees gaming in the future thing, ya looks like we might be going there and the PSP2 will be the pioneer IMO.

      To sum all that up:
      I WANT ONE !!! NOW!
