Did You Say Kinect-Style TV’s & PC’s?

Since you first heard of Microsoft’s Kinect, formerly known as Project Natal, did you ever dream of having a PC that was motion-controlled instead of touch-screen or a TV that allowed you to change channels at the snap of your fingers?

Well, that could all be closer than you think. You see, the technology that powers Kinect was actually developed by an Israeli company called PrimeSense and it seems that they’re willing to implement the tech elsewhere.

In an recent interview with Engadget, the company’s VP, Adi Berenson, claimed that we could see technology similar to that of Kinect in TV sets and PC’s very soon. How soon exactly?

Berenson claims 2011 is the year but didn’t say exactly whatw e could expect these new devices to do in comparison to Kinect. Hopefully it will actually offer some good functionality rather than just being gimmicky and with yet more luck, those who buy Kinect will have some sort of intergration with motion-control TV’s.

Didn’t the head honcho from Microsoft say they’re planning on bringing Natal (now Kinect) to PC’s? I remember reading that somewhere a year or so ago.
