No 3D For PSP2

No 3D For PSP2

Scott Rohde , Worldwide Studios VP, has said there are no plans for a 3D tech in for the next PlayStation handheld, whatever form that will take.

When asked about the ‘E3 winning’ 3DS he told Industry Gamers, “It’s an interesting idea for a technology.”

“I’m, personally, very curious to see how it takes hold with the marketplace, whether people are into that experience or whether it’s just a little too foreign to them. It’s going to be a great experiment.”

Many would think that with the competition from Nintendo firmly in place and Sony pushing the 3D agenda already, you’d think its next handheld might have an extra dimension of it’s own.

“No, no plans for that,” Rhodes responded to questions about a 3D PSP2.

“We just chose to focus on the big 3D in the home. It’s important to us to push that out there and be on the bleeding edge of it.”

Of course hopes of a PSP2 are low since nothing more has been heard of it since the start of the month. Who knows maybe they are taking a page from David Jaffe’s book and are lying.

Wise decision, I’m still rather skeptical of how well the 3D well work for DS on the market, didn’t they say it didn’t really work well at E3? Sounds like a lame gimmick that won’t really be used by the developer, kinda like the touch screen, not much games actually made full and clever use of it.

Not to mention that it’s highly recommended that children under the ages of 7 shouldn’t be looking at 3D images (since the muscles in their eyes aren’t fully developed) – which kind of damages the Nintendo market for the 3DS :???:
