Sega announces “Thor: The Video Game”! Oh Dear…

Sega has revealed that it will be developing and publishing a Thor video game to tie in with Marvel’s upcoming Thor movie.

“Thor: The Video Game!” said in a booming voice from above! Will be a third-person adventure game with a narrative written by comic book author Matt Fraction.

Players will be able to beat down enemies using Thor’s legendary hammer Mjolnir and command the powers of the storm: wind, thunder and lightning. We wonder if mead will be involved?

The game is scheduled for release on the PS3, 360, Wii, DS and PSP in summer 2011.

“Oh Dear” because the majority of movie-to-game, games and game-to-movie, movies end up failing…and badly.

Marvel’s movies have been of high quality recently – hopefully its licensed movie games are given the same treatment.
