Xbox 720 and Wii 2 will beat PS4 to the market, says Sony

Sony predicts that Microsoft and Nintendo will launch their new home consoles before it gets round to unleashing the fourth generation of PlayStation.

The three platform holders are still to publicly discuss a new iteration of their core gaming hardware, which leaves gamers to speculate over what technology a ‘Wii 2′ or ‘Xbox 720′ may contain.

Shuhei Yoshida, Sony’s Worldwide Studios boss, said that despite the fact that four years have passed since the PS3′s global debut, it still had a “longer lifecycle”ahead of it compared to that of the Xbox 360 and Wii.
“Naturally, in my opinion, Microsoft will make the first move. Or, because Nintendo’s approach was not to upgrade much on its basic hardware – Wii doesn’t even support HD resolution – so they might be the first to move.

“Probably we should watch these companies, in my opinion. Because PS3 was later than Xbox, and is more powerful, so it has a longer lifespan.”
