Gamescom 2010: Blizzard Feels Diablo III Would Suit Console
Blizzard today told CVG that, out of all of its franchises, Diablo III is the one that would most suit a console port – if it were to happen.
With Diablo III hopefully on track for next year, the studio isn’t ruling out the possibility that it could appear on PS3 and Xbox360, although it isn’t actively “pursuing” a multiplatform release at this point in time. We certainly hope they do.
Speaking to CVG at Gamescom, Blizzard’s Jay Wilson said that the firm was “focused on the PC game first and foremost”.
He added: “I’d be lying if I said we never talk about it, but it’s not something we’re pursuing right now. I do agree that of all our titles, Diablo would be the easiest to bring over – mainly because of the controls.”
Yesterday, Blizzard unveiled a host of new details and a trailer on Diablo III’s new Caravan followers and Artisan system.
A console release would be great, but of course they first have to get the PC one up to perfection.
