Question Of The Week: How Many Of Your Friends Game?

Many people have friends in different social circles, and we know that not everyone is a gamer. By using our infinite knowledge on people, and what they do, we’re asking you: how many of your friends are gamers, and are they any good?

And by gamers, we mean: own a PC/Console and play on it at least twice a week.

My friends do not own consoles, and their PC knowledge is limited to Facebook. Therefore they aren’t gamers. And when they do play games, they aren’t very good. In fact, they get quite annoying. Don’t you just hate it when you’re playing a fighting game and someone spams right punch over and over again? Story of my life..

    There’s this female friend I know who apparently used to play DotA but not a gamer at all now, rest of my friends are all gamers. My local mates are all well-versed WoWers now (used to be dota players, but that’s a thing of the past), the international mates are either 2D fighter fanatics (those people you run into at arcade/PSN/XBL that can whip out combos that’ll blow your mind away) or RPer/LARPer who only casually play oddball RPG titles like NWN (1, not 2) and Witcher.

    All of my friends are gamers. When you’re a social outcast its pretty hard to get along with people that you don’t share interests with. The sad story of my life although all of my gaming friends are awesome and they all take gaming pretty seriously.

    My best friends are gamers,and not the noob gamers,some really decent gamers in their own respective games/consoles.I wouldn’t be posting here today if it wasnt for one of my good friends showing me dota…

    I would think that ALL my friends game. But there also are many different varieties that play, some like to play exciting exercise games, while others like to play interesting fighting games more than other games. Then there are the friends that would play nearly anything, but then there are the few others that play some of the simplest games, but none of my friends don’t play games. :cool:

    All of them? :P Actually, I can think of one dude I know who doesn't game anymore (gf + RL etc), and another who never did.

    I would think most of my friends. Around 89% since we have LAN’s and that so yeah.

    I live in a world surrounded by people that have never known that you can connect tour next gen console to the internet and were amazed that such a thing as online gaming exists, sigh….and jews. Well I do know a lot of people that play games, and a few that LAN and take PC seriously, but otherwise I scream on the inside.

    My friends can be clumped for the most part into two categories: the ones who are awesome aswell as gamers, and the ones who are badass and get drunk and don’t play games at all!
    Both groups are fun to be around… Both groups have elements of my personality type… Should I be forced to choose which group I like the most, I would be inclined to pit them against each other in a round-robin Starcraft 2 tournament. But I think I already know who would prevail.

    my friends are very social, we go out, braai, have fun…so yes we have a life, but we LOVE gaming, all of us. xbox, dota, starcraft we lan when we can, what we can, even our married friends, even those with kids:)

    I think I would have to divide my friend groups into 3 different sub groups – the people who I met through games and who I game with regularly, the people who I either grew up with/went to school with/or just met in any regular, non-gaming manner, and then the people who overlap both groups. I think the third option is probably the most comfortable, I especially remember enjoying moving between social groups in high school during break. Discussing DotA strats over a sandwich or two is win. :D

    well, most of my friends are gamers. i do have a few that don’t game at all, but i just see them at parties or social events. my close friends all play games, even those that are sport/fitness addicts or get drunk each weekend.

    mostly they get drunk and THEN go to lans. quite fun actually…our school has a dota team, and i’ve played wow/dota with and against most of the matrics/student council. most of them are gamers :P

    Most of my friends aren’t gamers. Friends got me into gaming a few years ago, but for some reason most of them stopped gaming. Still have a couple of friends who are into gaming. They mostly play RPG’s. Some play COD4, and I have like a few personal friends who play DotA, but not many, and they just feed it up ffs. True story. Then I have online friends who I met online while gaming. Mainly only DotA guys, sine that’s pretty much the only game I play.

    All my guy mates are up for a gaming session… None of the girls tho… I got my Girl to play modnation racer… that was a mistake… i miss my PS3 now… :grin:

    In my friends circle, there’s only one. She’s a chick as well which makes it 10x more awesome :P

    Well quite a bit of my friends are games majorly pc gaming, thn 1 wii-er and a 2 ps3-ers, most of them arent very good at it but they try lol, once played a 1v1 match against my buddy i used a kinfe only, he killed me thrice i killed him 25 lol ninja classing hehe mostly the boys are gamers just 1 girl is a gamer:P i think i cud say im the best out of my friends on pc FPS-ing
