Inafune: Devil May Cry 5 Will Have A “Western Touch”
Keiji Inafune, head of R&D, Online Business and Global Head of Production at Capcom has said that Devil May Cry 5 will have a “western touch” to it – should it be made that is.
Recently, in an interview with Spanish gaming site 3D Juegos, Inafune said that the new direction for the series would appeal to a broader audience, maximising sales as a result.
“The reason is that, despite the franchise has some very loyal followers, their sales are not particularly high, especially overseas.” said Inafune.
Despite discussing Devil May Cry 5 openly as though it’s on its way already, Inafune did not actually confirm that the game was in development – and neither did Capcom. Rather, he opted to tease fans by saying that ‘when’ DM5 begins development, it will be quite different from past games in the acclaimed series.
“Devil May Cry 5 is a game that, when started development, this will change a lot in relation to the above,” he added.
This is the second time Inafune has teased an announcement in a not-so-subtle manner. He recently hinted at a Resident Evil 6 announcement, which he said will be made “shortly.”
