LucasArts Executes A ‘Massacre’ On Staff Headcount
LucasArts has cut an unspecified number of staff members following the completion of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2.
The company has not provided any details, but a former studio member labelled the cutbacks as a “massacre” – informing Kotaku that approximately 85 employees had been sent away.
“LucasArts is reorganising its teams to better address the needs of the internal studio,” the firm said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, this means adjusting staffing. LucasArts continues to be committed to creating a first-class internal studio – and to fostering relationships with trusted external partners – in order to deliver quality games that amaze and inspire fans.”
This reinforces the rumour that The Force Unleashed 3 has been cancelled. Cutbacks could also be the reason The Force Unleashed II on PSP was cancelled, but nothing has been confirmed.
Wow, things have really been hectic over at LucasArts lately.
