Murmurs Of Duke Nukem Forever At PAX 2010
Duke Nukem Forever is dead right? Wrong. The game appears to be alive and kicking under new developer Gearbox Software.
It was initially rumoured that Borderlands developer Gearbox was working on Duke Nukem Forever but the developer has now not only confirmed the rumour but also claims that the game is finished and ready to showcase at PAX 2010.
Let me repeat that, GEARBOX HAS COMPLETED DEVELOPMENT ON DUKE NUKEM FOREVER!
Not only that but the game will also be playable. For the first time ever, we won’t just be seeing cinematics or scripted sequences but actual gameplay. As Gearbox boss, Randy Pitchford, puts it: “It’s hard to believe.” We’ll just have to see what gearbox has to showcase at PAX this weekend.
Need more proof? These pics crept out of PAX in Seattle, notice the one featuring Gearbox and 2K logos with DNF signage.
More than a decade of disappointments, false hopes, controversy and development later we may finally see Duke Nukem Forever come to fruition. The game that broke records for its development time and delays has been set for a 2011 release on Xbox, PS3 and PC. The day this game releases, virgins will descend from heaven, the Earth will shake and, as former 3D Realms boss George Broussard communicated through a picture on Twitter, pigs will fly.
Stay tuned for more updates as they break.
